AllSync Licensing Model

Purchasing licenses for AllSync entitles you to install and use the software as provided for in the License Agreement.

Number of Licenses

At least one license is required for each user of AllSync, enabling him or her to transfer data between two devices with different IP addresses. 'Device' refers to a computer or NAS drive in a network, for example. The number of licenses has to be increased by 1 for each additional device with an individual IP address in the network with which data transfer takes place:

Examples:

Data transfer between 2 devices in a network with different IP addresses = 1 license
Data transfer between 3 devices in a network with different IP addresses = 2 licenses
Data transfer between 4 devices in a network with different IP addresses = 3 licenses
etc.

No additional licenses are required for data transfer between local and external storage media without a separate IP address of their own (e.g. hard drives, CD/DVD drives, USB devices, etc.).

The number of licenses used since starting AllSync is shown in the AllSync log pane after every copy operation. The internal license count (number of requisite licenses) is reset every time AllSync is started.

Private vs. Commercial Use

The Home Edition of AllSync may only be installed on a user's private (non-business) computer and used for private (i.e. non-commercial) purposes. If you are using AllSync commercially you need the Professional or Business Edition.

License Data

For private persons (non-commercial use), the name of licensee is designated by the user's first and last name. Example: John Brown

For companies, corporate groups or organizations, the licensee is designated by "Name of Company - Location", "Name of Company - Location - User's Name" or "Name of Company - Location - Computer Name". Examples:

Acme, Inc. - New York
Acme, Inc. - Los Angeles - John Brown
"Acme GmbH - Berlin - Server001"
